A tool that captures packets on a LAN.

TCPindex is a totally free tool for all network administrators, as it lets you capture packets sent via that network. Once captured, they are indexed so looking through them is easier.

The searches in TCPindex are done via keywords, as with any other search engine. This way you can locate any packet quickly and intuitively. For it to work correctly you need to register the WPCAP.DLL.

For programmers it is very interesting to note that the source code of how TCPindex was created is available on the author`s website.
